Question and Answer

Below are the results of the Q&A session during the webinar.

GRP Series IP Phones

Q: Why the paper labels on the GRP2634?
A: When it comes down to it, price point. With the price point and target deployment scenario we wanted the GRP2634 to fulfil, an LCD screen would drive up the price too much. If that is required for a deployment of yours, look into our GRP2616 and GRP2614.

Q: Do the current GRP2600 series support Wi-Fi 6?
A: No they do not, future GRP2600 series most likely will.

GUV Bluetooth Headset

Q: Will the Bluetooth dongle support Grandstream IP phones?
A: No, not at the moment. Currently, the dongle is only for laptops/PCs that do not have Bluetooth built-in.

Q: How many simultaneous devices can the GUV3050 pair with concurrently?
A: One

GWN7660 Wi-Fi 6 Access Point

Q: Will the network port be greater than 1Gbps speed?
A: The GWN7660 access point network port will not be.

Q: How many Wi-Fi 6 access points will be manageable on one controller?
A: If you're using GWN.Cloud, unlimited. If you're using the APs built-in controller, it depends on the access point. Be sure to check the datasheet of the master access point you intend to use as the network's controller first on Grandstream's website.

Q: Any plans for making live data available via GWN Manager for diagnostic purposes?
A: No plans for that now, however I will be sure to pass along this feedback to our devs. Please also be sure to submit a ticket via our HelpDesk with this feature request if you'd like to see it.

IP Surveillance

Q: Any plans to release a smart device app for the surveillance products?
A: No

Q: Any new GSurf software or NVR?
A: Currently, no new GSurf software is planned, there may be an NVR in the future but nothing is in the works currently.

Q: Will the new IP cameras support on-board AI?
A: No, they will not.

GVC3220 Ultra HD Video Conferencing System and GMD1208 Conferencing Microphone

Q: Will third party conferencing Android apps work with the GVC3220?
A: Yes

Q: Can I use the GMD1208 with my laptop or Grandstream IP phone?
A: If those devices support Bluetooth, yes. The GMD1208 can be used with any device that support a Bluetooth microphone connection.

Q: Can I install Android applications to the GVC directly, or will I have to download APK files?
A: Downloading Android apps will most likely be done the same as our other Android products, by first downloading the "GS Market" on the GVC3220 first. Then you'll be able to browse and download Android applications.
